My name is Jeff Edmondson, owner of Step Doctors of the Carolinas. For more than 26 years, I owned and operated Pool Patch Pros, specializing in professional swimming pool leak detection and underwater repair throughout the Carolinas.

Over those years, I built Pool Patch Pros around one simple principle: take care of the customer and do the job right. That commitment helped the company earn a five-star reputation and gave me the opportunity to work on thousands of swimming pools and solve problems involving leaks, liners, skimmers, drains, light niches, plumbing, fiberglass steps, and other pool components.

Selling Pool Patch Pros Wasn't the End of My Story

After more than 26 years, I recently made the decision to sell Pool Patch Pros.

I thought I was ready to step away.

But there was one part of the business I simply could not walk away from: fiberglass repair.

For years, customers had trusted me when their fiberglass pool steps cracked, flexed, broke, blistered, or began to fail. I knew there was still a need for experienced fiberglass repair, and I

did not want those customers left wondering who to call.

After selling Pool Patch Pros, the calls and the need for fiberglass work did not disappear. I realized I wasn't ready to stop helping people with this part of their pools.

That is why I started Step Doctors of the Carolinas.

A New Company Built on 26+ Years of Experience

Step Doctors allows me to focus on the fiberglass side of swimming pool repair, an area I have worked with and studied through decades of hands-on pool repair experience.

We specialize in fiberglass pool step repair, structural fiberglass repair, soft and flexing steps, reinforcement, foam support, fiberglass skimmer repair, light niche repair, and professional gelcoat restoration.

My background in leak detection also changes the way I approach fiberglass damage. I have spent more than two decades looking for the source of pool problems. When I see a cracked or damaged fiberglass step, I don't want to cover the damage and leave. I want to understand why the failure occurred and address the underlying problem whenever possible.

Why I Started Step Doctors

Step Doctors wasn't started because I needed another business.

I started Step Doctors because I saw a service my customers still needed.

After spending more than 26 years earning people's trust, I couldn't walk away from the fiberglass side knowing homeowners still needed someone experienced to call.

So instead of walking away from the swimming pool industry completely, I chose to focus

on the part of the work I wanted to continue doing.

Step Doctors of the Carolinas is the result.

The company name has changed. The commitment to my customers hasn't.

I'm 54 years old and the proud father of two great kids, ages 24 and 29. After more than 26 years in this industry, I still believe your reputation comes down to how you treat people and the quality of the work you leave behind.
